Georgia Inmate who killed two corrections officers on duty while escaping from prison has been sentenced to death by the court this week. According to the reports, the convict of this serious felony is 29 years old Ricky Dubose. The deadly incident occurred in the year 2017. Ricky Dubose has been found guilty of this serious felony on Monday and the jury sentenced him to the death penalty on Thursday. The incident happened on 13 June 2017 in Putnam County in Southeast Atlanta. Prison Inmates Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe, tried to escape the prison from a prison transport bus.
According to the reports While escaping the prison, Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe were seen by the prison guards Sgt. Christopher Monica and Sgt. Curtis Billue. Reports further claim that when the guards tried to intercept them and stop them, Ricky Dubose grabbed the officer’s gun and fatally shot both the officers. After escaping the prison Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe didn’t stop their criminal acts. The duo stole 3 cars and held a couple of captives, while police officials were searching them. Reports claimed that the duo Ricky and Donnie were arrested back by the police officials just after some time. The duo was arrested in Tennessee.
Although, Donnie Rowe was also convicted of the death penalty in September. But later on, a judge sentenced him to life imprisonment because the jury couldn’t come to any decision and thus sentenced him for life imprisonment. According to the reports, Ricky Dubose was already serving 20 years in prison for his earlier felonies. Reports further claimed that Ricky had been previously charged for armed robbery, and loot and thus he was serving for these serious felonies. Ricky’s lawyer argued in court and stated that his Client Ricky murdered these two guards because he was intellectually disabled.
He argued that he was suffering from some intellectual disabilities and Intellectually he was not strong and thus he committed such serious felonies, but his argument was rejected by the Judge and the Jury.
