Hyderabad: Heavy rains and flooding was witnessed in Chandrayangutta house and several other different parts of Hyderabad on Saturday night.
The downpour was witnessed in Nampally, Abids, Kothi, Basheerbagh, Khairatabad, Goshamahal and Vijayanagar colonies. The rains led to waterlogging in parts of the state capital, along with the Falaknuma bridge.
Earlier, Chandrayangutta Corporator, Abdul Wahab despatched out a message to the people of the realm, urging them to stay safe by transferring to the first flooring of their very personal or completely different buildings throughout the neighbourhood.
“People in Balapur, Baba Nagar and shut by areas mustn’t carry on the ground flooring of their properties, they should shift to the shut by first flooring within the similar buildings or that of others throughout the neighbourhood,” Wahab acknowledged throughout the message.
Rescue operations have been carried out to provide support to the people, in a single such operation Abdullapurmet Police pulled out a car caught from overflowing water with the help of a JCB machine in Rachakonda.
Earlier, Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao had directed officers to distribute the Chief Minister support kits on the doorsteps of the residents throughout the rain affected areas all through the city.
Rao on Saturday reviewed the progress of support measures, along with dewatering and restoration actions being taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Firm (GHMC) in inundated areas of the city.
