Mallepally: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday took out a ‘paidal daura’ in the Mallepally division of Nampally Assembly constituency. He was accompanied by Nampally MLA Jaffer Husain Meraj and AIMIM workers. Owaisi went around several pockets of the division and interacted with the local people.
He asked them to vote for the AIMIM in the GHMC elections scheduled on December 1. Owaisi is banking on the developmental works taken up by the party in various places in the division to garner votes. The Mallepally division has always been a strong base of the AIMIM with the party retaining seats for several terms in the corporation.
The Hyderabad MP is holding a padayatra every morning in different areas of the city and interacting with the voters. In the evenings, he is holding street corner meetings at various places in the city and addressing the voters. The AIMIM is engaged in a triangular contest with the BJP and the RS in the 51 seats where it has fielded candidates.
